So, last week was my brother's birthday and we went out to eat twice. The first time was to Red Robin. Now, Red Robin is all about burgers, but as I've said, I don't like my burgers full of STUFF, so none of their specialty burgers are all that appealing to me. So, I had my normal Cheeseburger (Burger, cheese, bun) and fries.
These chain restaurants are sometimes better and sometimes worse. On this particular day, the burger I had was a 3.5 on my Friesenburger scale. Remember...a Friesenburger is a 6! It was a good burger. Just no Friesenburger. As for the fries, they have kind of a different scale and I just rate them all between a one and a five. The Red Robin fries were a 2 on this day. I'm not the biggest fan of Red Robin fries because they taste pretty plain without ketchup. I like ketchup but I enjoy fries that I can eat without it too.
Then the next day we went out to Applebees. I got my usual burger just like at Red Robin. The Applebees burger was just a 2. Again, nothing exciting. The fries however were a 4.5. I like those Applebees fries!
In a couple of days, I'm going to toss in a sandwich review. I've had a couple of good ones lately and thought I'd share.
I'm going to be in North Carolina in about a week and a half. I'm looking forward to trying some burgers outside of Washington.

Rating Scale
I thought the best way to start would be to explain my informal rating scale.
My favorite burger place is Friesenburgers in Tacoma, WA.
When I rank burgers, I rank them on a "Friesenburgers Scale". I rank on a scale of 1-5 with a 6 being a Friesenburger! :-) I have found only one other burger that obtained the coveted Friesenburger 6 and that was at Burger Claim right next to Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, WA. Of course, Great Wolf is one of my most favorite places, so maybe I was just extra happy when I was there last time and had the hamburger at Burger Claim. I'll find out early next year when we go back to Great Wolf for my birthday! Although I am going to the North Carolina Great Wolf in a couple of weeks so I'll get a chance to blog about North Carolina burgers here too!
In the meantime, I generally have a burger at least every couple of weeks. My mom and dad are divorced and on the Fridays when my mom takes me and my brother to my dad's house, we always have dinner together and I usually have a burger. So, I may not be updating much more than ever couple of weeks, but maybe mom will take me out for more burgers so I can blog more! Or maybe I'll just add in some other random stuff, like blogs about video games. :-)
Oh, and I never order off a kids menu. I eat a full sized adult burger. No kid's meals for me! :-)
I should have a burger rating tomorrow. It's my brother's birthday so we'll definitely be doing dinner. We'll see how it goes!
